The Museum’s High-Flying Friend

Kit the Kite is more than just a mascot—it’s a symbol of imagination, exploration, and endless possibilities! A beloved part of the Children's Museum in Oak Lawn, Kit the Kite was originally dreamed up by Darlene Blanz, whose creative vision gave wings to this joyful character.

Today, Kit soars through the museum and beyond, inspiring children to dream big, play freely, and take their curiosity on new adventures. You’ll spot Kit the Kite gliding across the Art Room on the electronic display, making special in-person visits, or appearing on fun activities, plush toys, and take-home coloring pages!
